![]() ic information; NAME: Iona Cass. ALIAS(ES): Iona's not an easy name to abbreviate. But she will sometimes go by Cassie within her circle of friends. AGE: 26, January 3rd, 1992. RACE: Mutant. AWARE OF MUTATION: Yes. POWERS: Telekinesis. Iona can move objects with her mind, without the need for physical contact with the item(s) that she wishes to move. When it comes down to what she can move, it's literally anything form big to small, living to inanimate, soft, hard, wet, dry, its doesn't matter; if Iona can see the object or objects that she wished to move then she can do it. Line of sight it important, without a clear visualisation of the item, her power doesn't seem to 'connect', however she has had experience and success with moving something in t a room she has been in recently, if she is in the near vicinity and can retain a clear, accurate mental image of the room, so her good memory comes in very handy there. Distance makes things harder, the closer to the object she is 'holding' with her powers the better, the more control she has, the more strength she can put into its motions, and the more intricate the motions she can make it do are. At close range she could float her key into the lock on her apartment door for instance, but equally she could lift a person's body and slam it into a wall with enough force to cave their skull in from behind. Tying into this, while Iona can manipulate multiple objects at any one time, the more she tries to control the harder things become and ultimately the less she can really do with them. This is because her powers rely on a high degree of concentration from her, she has to work to keep objects moving, or even to keep them stationary. Much the same thing goes for size and weight though, while as of yet she has not encountered anything that she can't lift with her telekinesis. Like all mutations though, this one has its downside; the physical effects on Iona can be pretty dire. If she over exerts herself she can suffer nosebleeds and severe migraines, even dizzy spells and vertigo to the point of nausea and any one of these side effects can take her days to get over. OCCUPATION: Waitress at Miseti, Iona is also a part-time photographer though things like film and the fluid to process it are now considered luxuries. APPEARANCE: Standing at 5'3", Iona is never going to be the tallest person in a room, but probably not always the shortest either, she's on the petite size, yes, but she's not overly short. Build wise she's neither fat nor thin, resting comfortably and averagely in the middle of the two, with obvious curves, it's not exactly possible to over eat given the restrictions put on diet in the Complexes so that sort of by default stops her from putting on weight. Iona has a very pale complexion with pale green eyes, and the fact that she has naturally black hair and keeps it very long can make her somewhat striking, of not attractive, should she make the effort. She dresses like a Goth, and obviously so. That said, her wardrobe is evidently filled with dark, even morbid clothing with styles anywhere from what would be considered 'modern' Goth culture to period influenced pieces with heavy Victorian, Medieval and even Catholic themes. Generally she'll wear a pair of heavy duty, buckled books up her mid-calf as her sort of 'trademark' piece of attire, apart form that her average clothing preferences are obviously dark, but she tends to layer clothing, skirts over pants - if only because the weather is so harsh nowadays - several shirts with varying sleeve length and over it all, a thick winter jacket. Again in black, what else? PERSONALITY: Everything is kind of doom and gloom for Iona, she is seriously waiting for the end to jump out on them all; she has a very morbid outlook on life and the world as it stands and will quite simply call things as she sees them, a complete pessimist in pretty much every aspect of her life, she actually shuns cheery people and thinks they're stupid or blind, that they probably can't see just how shitty the world is now. That said, she actually doesn't really want to die particularly, as her personality seems to suggest to some people, she's nowhere near suicidal, she just sees death as a probability given the human race's recent history. When it comes to her mutation in this respect, Iona actually sees the whole thing as humanities last, feeble attempt to rise from the ashes, trying to evolve out of the hole it has dug for itself. Needless to say she doubts it'll do any good, but that doesn't stop her enjoying her mutation. In some ways she can be a lot to take, with her gallows humour and her adamant stance that the world is going to end, the apocalypse has come and gone and they're just waiting in the aftermath to be picked off by one thing or another, be it the weather, the creatures in the wastelands or just by the slow decay of life into nothingness, she can come across as very intense and obviously, that's not everyone's cup of tea. No matter how much she decries the human race though, she does still have a streak of that pesky humanity in her and she would help someone in need if she ever crossed their path, even if she says differently. Iona is essentially a good person with a bad attitude. SKILLS: In this day and age Iona is actually severely under skilled; she's too old really to be trained in something useful like the school kids are, so she has to stick to what she can do, which is wait tables. However, she is actually pretty damn good at that, even if it is a sucktastic job, Iona has a very good memory for faces and orders and table numbers, which in turn actually helps her out with the visual memory part of her mutation. Perhaps her best skill is actually the most useless one of them all, and that is her affinity for photography, there's not really a way she can put that to good use and it's not like there's even that much to photograph any more, which manages to frustrate her quite a bit, but she indulges herself in the pastime whenever she can get her hands on the resources to do so. LIMITATIONS: Iona is a mortal in every sense of the word and outside of her mutation wouldn't know how to defend herself if she tried. Perhaps due to her mutation, though it could equally be a side effect of the fall out from the nukes, Iona suffers severe migraines every so often. They seem to affect her more after or during the time when she is using her powers, but because they also occur randomly, at work or at home, she's not all that sure where they come from. They got so bad that Iona staggered into the Medlabs one day and was given a prescription of pain meds that would basically render her unconscious for the duration of the migraine, and she relies on those things quite heavily some days. If the migraine is bad enough, she can remain weak for several days after the fact and generally becomes ill tempered in these times. HISTORY: - Born in Little Rock Arkansas, moved a round a lot in her youth. - Father (Joshua) was in the military. - Mother (Felicity) was a homemaker. - Never settled in one place too long. - Iona was never great at making friends. - Wanted to be a photographer from a young age, pursued it through High School. - War broke out when Iona was 18. - Father was drafted to the war effort. - Assumed KIA like many of the armed forces. - Iona and Felicity never heard from him again. - Her long term boyfriend (Josh) went missing after leaving town to find his own family. - Iona's home town was destroyed by an air raid several months later. - Both survived and moved to New York with the rest of the survivors from their most recent home town. - NY was already in ruins when they got there. - Joined those living in the ruined buildings. - Felicity dies of radiation poisoning despite the meds that Horizon were giving out. - Iona became very ill too, but responded to the medications better than her mother. - Moved into the Complex as soon as it was ready. - Got a job as a waitress, as she wasn't qualified for anything else. - Hopes to hear from Josh, but doesn't think it's likely. - Mutation manifested six months ago. - Luckily it happened in the safety of her own home, but she has had to deal with learning control since then. --- ooc information; NAME: Hezy.
